What This Specification Is

The Internet of Value spec defines a protocol stack for representing valuable human activity as machine-readable, auditable state. It starts with time, activity, proof, attribution, and integrity; interprets that activity through Wellbecoming context; routes public performance outputs into SAOcommons validation; and updates Wellbeing Identity as a living state.

The protocol stack is designed for builders who need stable primitives, versioned registries, validation rules, API contracts, and a public history of how the system evolved. This Datatracker-style surface makes that evolution visible instead of hiding it in commits or old planning notes.

Canonical Protocol Stack

These are the canonical Level 1 protocol roots. The display names are human-readable; the tilde paths are the stable names that builders should use in registries, API payloads, tests, and conformance tooling.

Tilde Layering

The tilde prefix is part of the protocol naming system. It communicates depth without inventing a separate namespace grammar.

LevelMarkerMeaning
L1~Protocol root
L2~~Major node or domain
L3~~~Facet / field / measurable primitive
L4~~~~Method, evidence, signal, or implementation-specific detail

Version Lineage

The version history records more than release numbers. It captures naming decisions, migrations, production-readiness passes, accepted RFC-style records, and generated artifacts.
